April 15th Beta - Guild Wars Forums

Will this Beta have the the same PvP setup as the last one? I.E. will we be able to build our PvP characters at level 20 and pick and choose skills?

My guild mates and I were wondering this, and hoping we would get a chance to try out our team build before we create the characters from level 1 after release.

well since no one has actually seen it yet, and the alphas cant say cause of the NDA i guess we will haveta wait and find out, but i thought last beta they didnt have that anymore anyways?

i read the last overseas beta recently had skills locked

this would be in bringing it closer to the retail version

wait and see is all i can say

I heard the Korean beta had the skills locked because of the tournament, but the scandinavian beta had the option to unlock the skills.

If you're refering to the Korean one, I think that's because it was over a week long, and the point was to see how good they could make their characters in that time starting from scratch for their tournament. None of that applies to our next BWE. Which doesn't necessarily mean they will still have that feature, just pointing out that what happened for the Korean event really has no bearing here. Completely different circumstances applied. During our last BWE, you could still unlock all the skills.

no i meant in the march BWE, i tried to make a lel 20 premade and i couldnt find out how, it said i could make a pvp or a pve, but they both startedd at lv 1

This is how I figure it... this is the LAST Beta Event. This is the absolute last time to do anything like this (unlocking skills) before the release, where everyone has to play fair and such.

I think it'd be a mistake to not unlock all the skills for the April Event... hopefully it goes out with a bang, as well.

So I'm not behind and it sounds like a lot of people feel the same way I do. I guess we can only hope that A.Net feels the same way.

I made both PvP and RP chars last beta. The RP chars start at level 1 in Old Ascalon and the PvP chars are lvl 20 and only have access to a few PvP areas. There were still premades, you just had to select one instead of the custom option that is the default option.

Something must have been wrong on your end, cause it worked fine for me. ( I made about a dozen PvP chars, all at lvl 20)
